Eat, drink, and be merry
I can’t stop looking up recipes for foods I totally enjoy. I just found various recipes for making Tabouli, a salad I can’t have enough of. It looks simple – all the better! There are different versions of this salad, depending on the origins of the person who wrote it: Greek? Lebanese? Middle-Eastern? Armenian? I’ll pick one to make forĀ tomorrow, since I already made comfort soup (sweet corn soup) and for dinner today.
Sigh.
I’m feeling slightly depressed this morning. There are a million things I want to do today, but I didn’t get enough sleep (6 hours only) to feel excited to start my day.
There were some new recipes I looked up last night before feeling this shitty: how to prepare Carne Asada and Carnitas meat. Maybe I should try either one today to cheer myself up.
Sigh.
Bring it on
I’m in love with “Bring it on” by Goose (from Belgium), currently heard in the Mitsubishi ad in the U.S. Say what you want, electronic music is way cool.
Winding down from Coachella
Coachella was AMAZING. I don’t know why I didn’t go the last two years – it would’ve been totally worth it to put studies in the backseat for this festival! However, I think 1 day was good enough for me. It was fun to hang out with Lesley, Errol, and Bryan, catch the bands, soak in the crazyness of the place and get soaked with water at the water tents, check out the hippie scene and how cool kids are dressing these days, and dance and dance and dance! The only things that bothered me were 1) all the pot-filled air (which wouldn’t have bugged me so much if I could actually also get high on it); 2) the heat from the desert sun, which was debilitating; and 3) the horrendous trailer toilets. But, hey, it’s Coachella, and by default we’re supposed to rough it out!
My favorite performance had to be Roger Waters, whose act, filled with so much ra-ra and even mini fireworks, was a whole different world from the indie rock sets. His Pink Floyd songs were def. the crowd pleasers. It was also great to see Dimitri, Tenaglia (who goes by Danny-T, I just found out), and my favorite Justice.
Ah, if only we were gonna be here next year! I would totally go for it again.
