The season finale of LOST was extremely pleasingly intense, mind boggling, and clever. However, I now have to battle withdrawal symptoms again for not having any Lost to watch until…*gulp* 2009.
Here’s a great Lost wrap-up article from the LA Times which contains spoilers (if you haven’t already seen the episode).

Wowzer! When I finally start earning money, I would totally like to indulge in the lifestyle of a coffee connoisseur.

So, as you might have gathered from my return from blogging hiatus that my folks have left. :’( Yeah, it was time; I need to take a break from all the traveling and hosting. When my mom was in town, she bought a ton of American ginseng from Chinatown because they are apparently cheaper here than in Singapore. She gave me some from her stash and taught me how to make chicken ginseng soup. The recipe is actually really simple! So I decided to make some today as part of my recuperating treatment (which includes taking naps, running errands, doing laundry, and splurging on a $5 loaf of bread from Europane).
Anyway, I’m having some soup now as I type: pretty delish!
-1 whole chicken
- 1 pot of water to boil the chicken in
- about 4 tablespoons of Ginseng sticks
- salt
- Fructis seeds (?). Not sure if they are actually known as that but they are also known as Wolfberry seeds or Goji seeds.
Just bring everything to boil – and you got chicken ginseng soup! YUM! My apartment now smells like a Chinese medical hall. ;-p
P.S.: It was such joy to find a whole chicken on sale at Ralph’s – 99 cents for a pound, the best treat of all!

So in the last 5 days my folks and I have traveled from: LA-Ojai Valley-LA-Vegas-Grand Canyon-Vegas-LA.
Phew! It has been fun albeit tiring (for me more than my parents and godmother, it seems!).
Today I’m taking them to the Getty museum, then to Koreatown, and after that, to San Diego where we’ll stay for the next 2 nights. Once we’re done with San Diego, we leave for San Juan Capistrano for a night, and after that make our way to Pasadena for one night, and finally, back to LA for the final night. Busy busy busy! I don’t even have time to put up photos. Maybe later today.
Oh, and GRADUATION IS TOMORROW! Very exciting
