The evolution of Cherbie

I was looking through old family photo albums to pick out old photos for display at our wedding, and found most unflattering pictures of myself during my high school years. Inspired by my sister’s own collection of profile shots taken at different points of her lifetime to track the “evolution” of her looks (her words, not mine), I did something similar on Photoshop.

How such a cute, cheerful toddler grow into this sullen teenager with chubby cheeks, an unbelievably dowdy haircut, and a mouth that looked swollen because of braces concealed under it, I don’t know. But I am sure glad those dark years are over.

Projects n projects…

I haven’t been good about updating my blog with pretty creations mostly because all the free time I have (which is, to be honest, quite a lot) has been channeled to shopping for wedding stuff or sleeping. Yes, sleeping. I have been sleeping so much that I’ve impressed myself with this new found ability. I have been going to bed at 9pm and waking up at 630am the next morning; insomnia be damned!

Back to pretty creations: I hope to start painting, drawing, etc., come September when we’re in Melbourne. Till then, my right brain will be full of nothing but flowers, decorations, etc. Up and coming wedding projects include: creating tassels for our wedding favors (paper fans), creating placecards, wrapping the red packet gift box (a.k.a. “ang pow” box…which I will elaborate on in later posts), and decorating various venues to be used on the actual wedding day.

Latest knot.com countdown alert: 17 days to go; it’s really happening!

Be careful what you wish for…

God must’ve read my last post as the weather took a different trajectory immediately after I wrote it. The sun broke through the gray clouds and I was able to go swimming, not just on that morning, but also yesterday morning and possibly again this morning. It was good. BUT, that also meant that the weather has warmed up, and I’ve been sweating profusely whenever I step out of an air-conditioned environment. Whew! I secretly hope for rain again, although I should really be hoping the weather stays this warm and sunny especially for the wedding!

You can’t win!

Rain, rain go away…

It’s been raining everyday since I touched down. Any right minded person would think of rain as a good thing: it keeps the weather cool and bearable. And I’m not ungrateful for that, but rain also prevents me from EXERCISING – something I REALLY need. By exercising, I mean, SWIMMING, since my other exercise options that involve rigorous use legs have been out of play due to knee and ankle injuries. The skies this morning look awfully ominous again. Help! I’m turning into a little flabby girl.

On a separate note: I’ve been making steady progress in overcoming jet lag. This morning, I woke up at 615am, a great improvement from 530am yesterday and 500am the day before yesterday. Hopefully I’ll be back to a more or less normal sleeping pattern tomorrow.

In Singapore!

I’m back in Singapore and fighting the ol’ jet lag.

Went for my 2nd gown fitting (with hair and trial make up) yesterday afternoon and was happy with the whole combo! I’m finally starting to feel excited about the wedding again. :)
