酱油鸡 (Soy sauce n spices braised chicken) with egg noodles and Chinese broccoli.
Soy sauce chicken is one of my favorite dishes from my mom’s kitchen. I love it coz it’s not just totally delish, but also so easy to make and the sauce can be frozen and used again to make another batch of braised chicken. Here’s the recipe (approximation)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup dark mushroom flavored soy sauce
- 1/2 cup light soy
- 2 tspns cumin seeds
- 2 star anis
- 1 cinnamon
- 5 cloves garlic
- some green onions
- chicken winglets/drumsticks
Place all the ingredients but the meat in a pot and let them boil for awhile. Then, add in the meat and let it all boil until cooked.
Serve with rice or egg noodles (flavored with oil, oyster sauce, and some sambal chili) and chinese vegs. I really enjoy the coriander taste with the chicken, too. Enjoy.
