Tulips from Bry. We spent a great Valentine’s day together and with Benji. Bry got me flowers, I got him chips, and we made a nice dinner together (i.e., took turns to cook and look after Benji).I like that Valentine’s day has now broadened to be a day of remembering to show love for your significant other AND friends/family. In all that, I also remembered the great love that Christ showed to us from the verse in John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day celebrating with friends, family, and most of all, basking in Christ’s love for us.
And remembering the real story behind this season from Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Thank you for giving us this season full of hope love and peace.
Us three make up a family
2011 is a significant year not just because it’s the birth year of our little boy; it’s also the year I transition into the third decade of life. Yup, turned the big 3-0 on the weekend and I was glad to be able to celebrate it with Bry and my little one, as well as with my parents, who are in town visiting and helping us out with the newborn. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for getting to spend and celebrate this day with the people I love and care most about in this whole wide world.
Priceless moment: when Benji was placed on my bosom within minutes after birth
Here’s my story under the cut (warning: graphic descriptions and a super long post!!!):
Thanks, bro, for finding it and sending it to me. I was officially crying the minute I read this (and tearing up again while re-reading it when typing this post). This letter was written 21 years ago; so much has changed but my dad’s loving tone still remains the same. I love you, dad!
This will be the last year we get to celebrate with just the two of us so it was an even more special anniversary. We both took the day off work, and had a lovely time enjoying each other’s company, talking about life, baby, our feelings, and most importantly, remembering the day we committed our lives to each other. I can’t be more grateful to God who made all this possible. Happy Anniversary, Bry! ❤
